Albany, N.Y., March 31, 2016—Officials from Albany Medical Center, Rensselaer County and the Town of Brunswick today celebrated the completion of Albany Med EmUrgentCare, an urgent care facility staffed by emergency medicine-trained providers located at 730 Hoosick Road in Brunswick. The site opens for business Friday, April 1 at 9 a.m. It is Albany Med EmUrgentCare’s first facility in Rensselaer County.

Albany Med EmUrgentCare provides expert care for a wide range of illnesses and ailments from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., every day of the year, including holidays. The Brunswick Plaza location is Albany Med’s fifth EmUrgentCare facility, with at least one other facility expected to open this year.

Providers at the 4,500 square foot facility offer expert treatment for common ailments including ear, sinus and throat infections, asthma, cuts and lacerations, tick and other insect bites, rashes and any other seasonal ailments. In addition, digital x-ray capabilities on-site will help medical providers diagnose sprains and fractures.

We couldn’t be more thrilled to finally open our doors to this special community,” said Pamela Hassett, Executive Director of Albany Med EmUrgentCare. “This project has been a long time coming and I know our staff, including Dr. Alison Spear who lives in Brunswick, is ready and excited to meet our neighbors and care for them as best we can.”

In addition to urgent care services, occupational medicine services will also be available to local employers with the focus on getting employees back to work in good health.

Albany Med EmUrgentCare has locations on Wolf Road in Colonie; off Route 50 in Glenville in the new Socha Plaza; and two locations on US Route 9W, one in Coxsackie, and one in Saugerties.
